Why Choose PLA-CFRP-CF?
Most carbon fibre filaments mix CF particles straight through the plastic, which is what makes them stiff and also what makes them rough on your nozzle and hardware. This one takes a different approach: a carbon fibre reinforced core wrapped in a PLA outer layer, so you get the stiffness and a clean surface finish without printing a fully CF loaded material end to end.
- Carbon fibre reinforced core for real stiffness and dimensional stability
- PLA outer layer keeps the surface smooth and easy to print
- Reduced warping and shrinkage compared to standard PLA
- A genuine step up from standard PLA without the full complexity of a pure CF filament
What Prints Suit PLA-CFRP-CF Best?
This one earns its keep on parts that need more rigidity than standard PLA offers:
- Prototypes and functional parts
- RC and drone components
- Tools, jigs and brackets
- Display models where a clean carbon fibre look matters
Printer Compatibility and Nozzle Wear
Our 1.75mm PLA-CFRP-CF runs on any FDM printer that handles standard PLA, including Bambu Lab, Prusa, Creality and Anycubic machines, at normal PLA temperatures.
One thing to plan for: the carbon fibre core is abrasive, the same as any carbon fibre filament. A hardened nozzle is not optional here, a standard brass nozzle will wear down quickly.
Part of a Wider CFRP-CF Range
The same core and sheath construction is available across other base materials if PLA is not the right fit for your part:
- ABS-CFRP-CF for more heat resistance
- PETG-CFRP-CF for better layer adhesion and outdoor durability
- ASA-CFRP-CF for UV stability alongside the carbon fibre core
