Collection: Engineering Filament
Engineering filament covers our high performance materials for parts that need more than PLA or PETG can offer, real heat resistance, stiffness, and long term durability. The range spans Nylon (PA), Polycarbonate (PC), flame retardant ABS, PET based composites, and carbon fibre reinforced versions across several base materials, all held locally in Australia.

Why Choose Engineering Filament?
These are the materials to reach for when a standard filament will not hold up, whether that means heat, mechanical load, or years of outdoor use. Most require an enclosed printer and a hardened nozzle, so they are a step up in both performance and printing difficulty.
- Higher heat resistance than standard PLA, PETG or ABS
- Greater strength and stiffness for load bearing parts
- Purpose built variants for specific jobs, not a one size fits all material
- Carbon fibre reinforced options across most of the range for extra rigidity
What's in This Range
This collection covers several distinct materials, each suited to a different job:
- PA (Nylon): tough, wear resistant and flexible under load, good for gears and mechanical parts
- PC (Polycarbonate): the highest heat resistance and impact strength in the range, including a PC PBT blend
- ABS FR: flame retardant ABS for enclosures and parts with fire safety requirements
- PET-CF and PET-HTCF: carbon fibre reinforced PET for high strength, high temperature parts
- CFRP-CF variants: carbon fibre reinforced versions of PLA, PC, PA and other base materials
Printer Compatibility and Nozzle Wear
Most of this range needs an enclosed printer with a heated bed to print reliably, PA and PC in particular are sensitive to warping and moisture. Any carbon fibre reinforced material here also needs a hardened steel nozzle, a standard brass nozzle will wear down quickly.
What Prints Suit Engineering Filament Best?
These materials earn their keep on parts that need to perform, not just look good:
- Automotive and transport components
- Manufacturing jigs, fixtures and tooling
- Outdoor and weather exposed brackets
- High load mechanical and structural parts
