Collection: PA Filament

PA filament (Nylon) is a high-performance nylon known for its strength, toughness, and wear resistance, ideal for demanding engineering applications. We stock it in White and Black, plus a carbon fibre reinforced PA-CFRP-CF option, all in 1.75mm, held locally in Australia.

Why Choose PA (Nylon) Filament?

Nylon earns its place in engineering applications through fatigue resistance and wear resistance that PLA, PETG and even ABS cannot match. It handles repeated flexing and moving parts far better than more rigid materials.

  • Outstanding toughness and fatigue resistance
  • Excellent wear resistance for moving parts and gears
  • Strong chemical resistance for industrial use
  • Available in White, Black, and a carbon fibre reinforced option

What Prints Suit PA Best?

This one earns its keep on parts that move, flex, or take repeated wear:

  • Gears, hinges and moving mechanisms
  • Brackets, jigs and fixtures
  • Functional parts needing long term durability
  • Industrial components exposed to chemicals or solvents

Standard PA vs PA-CFRP-CF

We stock two versions here. Standard PA in White and Black gives you nylon's toughness and flexibility on its own. PA-CFRP-CF adds a carbon fibre reinforced core wrapped in a nylon outer layer, the same co-extruded construction as our other CFRP-CF materials, trading a little flex for real stiffness and dimensional stability when the part needs to hold its shape under load.

Handling and Printer Settings

Nylon is hygroscopic, meaning it absorbs moisture from the air. Store it in a dry box or airtight container, and dry it before printing if it has been sitting out, damp nylon will string, bubble and print poorly.

Print on an enclosed printer with a heated bed set between 70ยฐC and 90ยฐC, and nozzle temperatures between 240ยฐC and 270ยฐC. If you are printing PA-CFRP-CF, a hardened steel nozzle is required, the carbon fibre core will wear down a standard brass nozzle quickly.
