Why Choose ABS-CFRP-CF?
Most carbon fibre filaments mix chopped CF straight through the plastic, which adds stiffness but also chews through nozzles and hardware. This one takes a different approach: a carbon fibre reinforced core wrapped in an ABS outer layer, so you get the stiffness and a cleaner surface finish without printing a fully CF loaded material end to end.
- Carbon fibre reinforced core for real stiffness and dimensional stability
- ABS outer layer keeps the surface smoother than a standard CF blend
- Reduced warping and shrinkage compared to standard ABS
- Full ABS heat resistance, on top of the added rigidity
What Prints Suit ABS-CFRP-CF Best?
This one earns its keep on parts that need more rigidity than standard ABS offers:
- Functional prototypes and engineering parts
- Automotive style components
- Jigs, fixtures and tooling
- Structural brackets and enclosures
Printer Compatibility and Nozzle Wear
Our 1.75mm ABS-CFRP-CF works best on enclosed FDM printers with a heated bed set between 90°C and 110°C, including Bambu Lab, Prusa, Creality and other systems built for engineering filaments.
One thing to plan for: the carbon fibre core is abrasive, the same as any carbon fibre filament. A hardened nozzle is not optional here, a standard brass nozzle will wear down quickly.
Part of a Wider CFRP-CF Range
The same core and sheath construction is available across other base materials if ABS is not the right fit for your part:
- PLA-CFRP-CF for easier printing with no enclosure needed
- PETG CF for better layer adhesion and outdoor durability
- ASA-CFRP-CF for UV stability alongside the carbon fibre core
