Why Use Support Filament?

Standard support material bonds to the model itself, which can tear delicate features or leave a rough surface once removed. A dedicated support material is built to release cleanly, so you can print geometry that would otherwise be impossible.

PVA: Water Soluble Support

PVA is our current support material, and it works by fully dissolving in water after printing. Drop the finished part in water, wait, and the support disappears entirely, no cutting or sanding needed. It is the right choice for rigid materials like PLA and PETG, especially on prints with fine internal detail that would be impossible to clean out by hand.

HydroPeel: Coming Soon, Built for TPU

HydroPeel is a support material we are adding specifically for TPU and other flexible filaments. Standard supports bond too aggressively to TPU, and PVA is not a great match either, so support removal on flexible prints has always been the difficult part. HydroPeel does not dissolve the way PVA does, instead warm or hot water weakens the bond between the support and the part, so it peels away cleanly without tearing delicate flexible features.

This matters more than ever with the new dual nozzle and multi material printers hitting the market, which make printing TPU with dedicated support far more practical than it used to be. HydroPeel is built for exactly that combination.
