Our 1.75mm PLA Marble runs on any FDM printer that handles standard PLA, including Bambu Lab, Prusa, Creality and Anycubic machines. No special profile required:

  • Nozzle: 200 to 215°C, same range as standard PLA
  • Bed: 55 to 60°C on textured PEI, or a glue stick on smooth glass
  • Nozzle size: a standard 0.4mm handles the fleck without issue — no need to size up
  • Speed: print it the same as you would any other PLA on your machine

Marble PLA is a standard PLA base with a fine mineral fleck blended through it, so the speckled colour variation is baked into the filament itself rather than painted on afterwards. Is Marble PLA Harder to Print Than Regular PLA?

Not really. it prints with the same settings as regular PLA, no special profile needed. The one honest caveat is the finished part is a touch more brittle than plain PLA, which is just what happens when you blend anything into the base material. It's not an issue for anything decorative, but we wouldn't put it under load-bearing stress.

What Temperature and Settings Does Marble PLA Need?

Nozzle temp sits in the same 200 to 215°C range as regular PLA, and bed temp follows whatever your usual PLA plate settings are nothing unique there. Nozzle size is the one thing worth paying attention to: like most infused filaments (wood, marble, anything with a filler blended in), it runs better through a 0.6mm nozzle, though a standard 0.4mm will still get the job done if that's what you've got. We've tested it on the Bambu Lab X1C and P2S without issues.

Can You Print Marble PLA on Any 3D Printer?

Yes. if your printer runs standard PLA, it'll run Marble PLA. No enclosure, no special hotend, no unique firmware settings required. The only thing worth upgrading is your nozzle if you're still on 0.4mm, purely because 0.6mm handles any filled filament a little more smoothly.

Can You Sand and Finish Marble PLA Prints?

You can. it sands the same as any other PLA. Realistically, most people don't bother, because the whole point of Marble PLA is that the speckle already does the work straight off the plate. If you're after a print you actually want to sand and stain by hand, that's really what PLA Wood is built for.
