Collection: PLA Glow in the Dark Filament

PLA Glow in the Dark filament, also called luminous PLA, is a specialty filament with phosphorescent particles blended in, so prints charge up under light and then glow once the room goes dark. It prints on any FDM printer at normal PLA temperatures, and we currently stock four glow effects, each with its own daytime look and night time colour, all in 1.75mm and held locally in Australia.

Why Choose PLA Glow in the Dark?

The appeal is simple. A print that looks completely normal in daylight, then does something the moment the lights go off. No UV lamp or gimmicks needed, just a few minutes under a bright light or some direct sun and it is ready to glow.

  • Genuinely charges and glows, not just a pale tint
  • Charges under any bright light or sunlight, no special equipment needed
  • Prints with the same ease as standard PLA
  • Four different glow effects to choose from, covering both subtle and bold options

What Prints Suit It Best?

Glow in the dark PLA earns its keep on anything that benefits from being seen after dark:

  • Halloween props and decorations
  • Kids toys and bedroom decor
  • Safety markers and signage
  • Cosplay props and accessories
  • Novelty gifts and display pieces

For everyday functional parts, a standard PLA Pro colour will do the job just as well. This one is about the after dark effect.

Which Glow Colour Should You Pick?

All four use the same phosphorescent glow effect, but each one looks and behaves differently before and after dark:

  • Rainbow 01: plain white in daylight, glows blue with green accent flecks once it is dark. The most understated option, a simple white print that surprises people at night
  • Rainbow 02: a soft pastel rainbow of pink, lavender blue and mint in daylight, shifting to a blue green glow after dark
  • Rainbow 03: clean white in daylight like Rainbow 01, but the glow is the more dramatic one, banding through blue, purple and pink
  • Rainbow 04: pastel pink and blue in daylight, intensifying into a bold magenta pink and teal blue glow, the biggest day to night contrast in the range

Printer Compatibility

Our 1.75mm PLA Glow in the Dark runs on any FDM printer that handles standard PLA, including Bambu Lab, Prusa, Creality and Anycubic machines, no enclosure or special hardware needed.

One thing worth knowing: the phosphorescent particles that make it glow are mildly abrasive, the same as most glow in the dark filaments on the market. A hardened nozzle is a smart choice if you plan to print much of it, since a standard brass nozzle will wear faster than usual.
