Instead of buying a spool for every shade, a CMYK filament set lets your slicer build colours from the four process colours, the same idea as a colour printer. It is the go-to set for full-colour lithophanes, HueForge-style layered prints and the colour-mixing tools in newer slicers, and four colours fit neatly into a single AMS or multi-material unit.

Why Choose PLA Pro CMYK Filament?

  • A matched Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and White set made to blend together
  • Four spools cover a wide range of colours in a single print
  • All four colours share the same PLA+ formula and print settings, around 190–220°C nozzle and 40–60°C bed
  • Fits a single 4-slot AMS or multi-material unit
  • Tougher than standard PLA, with the same easy printing

What You Can Print With It

CMYK sets are built for prints where colour does the talking: full-colour lithophanes of photos, HueForge-style layered artwork, colourful signs and figures, and any model where you want more shades than you have spools. Each colour also works on its own as a bright, clean PLA Pro colour.

Why White Instead of Black?

For lithophanes and colour mixing, white does the job black does on paper in reverse. Light comes through or reflects off the white, and darker tones come from thicker or stacked layers of cyan, magenta and yellow. That is why colour-mixing sets are Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and White.

Printer Compatibility

Our 1.75mm PLA Pro CMYK filament works with Bambu Lab, Prusa, Creality and most FDM 3D printers. Full-colour prints need an AMS or multi-material setup, while layered HueForge-style prints can also be done with manual filament changes at set layer heights.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is CMYK filament?

CMYK filament is a set of PLA Pro in Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and White, the process colours used to mix other colours. Instead of needing a spool for every shade, your slicer layers or blends these four to create a wide range of colours across a print, much like a colour printer does on paper.

Why is the set white rather than black?

For lithophanes and colour-mixing prints, white works as the base. Light shines through or reflects off the white, and darker tones come from thicker or stacked layers of cyan, magenta and yellow, so black is not needed. That is why colour-mixing filament sets use Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and White.

What can I print with a CMYK set?

The most popular uses are full-colour lithophanes of photos, HueForge-style layered artwork, and multi-colour figures, signs and keyrings that need more shades than you have spools. Each colour also prints well on its own as a bright PLA Pro colour.

Do I need an AMS or multi-material printer?

For full-colour lithophanes and colour mixing, yes. The four colours fit a single 4-slot AMS or multi-material unit. HueForge-style layered prints can also be done on a single-colour printer by pausing and swapping filament at the layer heights the software gives you.

What settings does PLA Pro CMYK print at?

The same as the rest of our PLA Pro range, around 190–220°C nozzle with a 40–60°C bed. All four colours share the same formula, so they print at the same settings and switch cleanly between each other in a multi-colour print.

Can I mix CMYK with other FilamentHub colours?

Yes. They are standard PLA Pro, so you can combine them with any of our other PLA colours in the same print. For colour mixing itself, use the CMYK set together so the slicer can blend the colours accurately.
