Collection: TPU 95A Filament
TPU 95A filament is a flexible thermoplastic polyurethane with a genuine Shore 95A hardness, both on the spool and once printed. It offers real flex without giving up the shape retention and durability that softer TPUs cannot match. We currently stock eleven colours, all in 1.75mm and held locally in Australia.

Why Choose TPU 95A?
This is the firmest of our three flexible materials, and it stays that way. What you buy as 95A prints as 95A, so you get real flex plus the shape retention and durability that a softer TPU cannot match.
- Flexible yet strong, with excellent shape retention
- High abrasion and impact resistance
- Smooth surface finish with strong layer adhesion
- Eleven colours to choose from
Best Uses for TPU 95A
This one earns its keep on parts that need flex but still have to hold their form:
- Phone cases and protective covers
- Gaskets, seals and flexible joints
- Wearable components and straps
- Impact resistant and vibration damping parts
TPU 95A vs ShoeFlex vs InsoleFlex: Which One Do You Need?
We stock three flexible materials, and the hardness rating on the spool only tells half the story:
- TPU 95A: 95A on the spool, and it stays 95A once printed. The firmest and most durable of the three, best for cases, gaskets and structural flexible parts
- InsoleFlex 9585A: rated 95A on the spool, but a special compound reacts to the heat of printing and softens to around 85A once printed, closer to real cushioning underfoot
- ShoeFlex 9075A: rated 90A on the spool, softening to around 75A once printed, the softest of the three and built for direct skin contact wearables
If you need a part to hold its shape under load, TPU 95A is the one to reach for. If you want genuine cushioning, ShoeFlex or InsoleFlex will feel noticeably softer in your hand than their spool rating suggests.
Printing with TPU 95A
TPU 95A prints best with a few adjustments from standard PLA or PETG settings:
- Direct drive extruders recommended for best results
- Slower print speeds improve consistency
- Reduced retraction helps minimise stringing

Frequently Asked Questions
How flexible is TPU 95A?
TPU 95A is firm and rubbery rather than squishy. It feels a lot like a typical TPU phone case: you can bend and squeeze it, and it springs straight back, but it won't squash flat in your hand. That balance is why our customers use it for everything from RC tyres, drone bumpers and phone cases to seals, gaskets, non-slip feet, watch bands and cosplay armour.
How do I make TPU 95A prints softer or firmer?
Change your walls and infill. The filament sets the material hardness, but your slicer settings decide how the finished part feels. For a softer, squishier part, use 2 walls and around 10 to 15% gyroid infill. For a firm, tough part, go to 4 or more walls and 40% infill or higher. Gyroid infill flexes evenly in every direction, so it's the best pattern for flexible parts. If you need a part softer than 95A can give you, have a look at our softer TPUs below.
Why is my TPU 95A stringing?
Moisture is the most common cause. TPU absorbs water from the air quickly, and wet TPU strings, oozes and bubbles, so dry the spool first using our filament drying guide. If it still strings, cut your retraction right down (around 0.5 to 1mm on a direct drive printer, or turn it off) and drop your nozzle temp toward the lower end of the range. Turning on wipe or avoid crossing walls in your slicer helps too.
Can I print TPU 95A on a Bowden printer like an Ender 3?
Yes. 95A is the firmest common TPU, which makes it the easiest flexible filament to push through a Bowden tube. Slow right down (around 15 to 25mm/s), keep retraction low, and make sure the filament path has no gaps where the filament can buckle. Softer TPUs like 85A or 75A are much harder to print on a Bowden setup, so 95A is the one to start with.
Can I use TPU 95A in a Bambu Lab AMS or AMS Lite?
No. TPU 95A is too soft to feed reliably through the AMS or AMS Lite, so print it from the external spool holder instead. If you have a TPU feed assist module, you can use that instead.
My TPU 95A is stuck to the build plate. How do I get it off?
Let the plate cool fully, then flex it, and next time print on textured PEI with a thin layer of glue stick. TPU bonds to PEI extremely well, sometimes so well that it pulls the coating off a smooth PEI plate. The glue stick acts as a release layer, so the part peels off cleanly. Several plates in our build plate range have a textured PEI side.
Will TPU 95A parts handle Aussie heat and outdoor use?
Yes, it holds up well, and that matches what our customers tell us. PLA parts can soften and warp in a hot car or a sunny spot, while TPU 95A copes much better, which makes it a good pick for car accessories, outdoor mounts and gear that lives outside.
Which FilamentHub TPU should I choose?
TPU 95A is our all-rounder for flexible, tough parts. TPU 95A Silk has the same flex with a glossy metallic finish for parts that need to look good. TPU-CF 95A adds carbon fibre for stiffer, more stable parts with a matte finish. For softer, cushioned prints, ShoeFlex 9075A prints closer to 75A for footwear, and InsoleFlex 9585A prints closer to 85A for insoles and comfort parts.
