Bambu Hardened Steel Hotend Nozzle - A1 / A1 Mini

The Bambu Lab Hardened Steel Hotend for the A1 and A1 mini is the drop-in replacement and upgrade for the stock brass hotend — built to survive abrasive filaments that would grind a brass nozzle out of spec, and available in four sizes from fine-detail 0.2mm up to fast-printing 0.8mm.
The A1 series' quick-swap design makes this one of the easiest hotend changes in 3D printing: the magnetic block locates the hotend precisely in position, and the whole swap takes under a minute with no tools and no recalibration headaches. That makes it practical to keep multiple sizes on hand and switch between them per job — fine 0.2mm for miniatures, 0.4mm for daily printing, or 0.6mm and 0.8mm when speed and strength matter more than fine detail. The hardened steel construction shrugs off carbon fibre, glass fibre, and metal-filled filaments print after print.
Choose Your Nozzle Size
- 0.2mm: Maximum fineness for miniatures, intricate logos, text, and moulds — precision that's worth the wait
- 0.4mm: The standard all-rounder — the best balance of speed and quality for toys, mechanical parts, and everyday prints
- 0.6mm: Faster speeds and stronger parts — also Bambu's recommended size for carbon fibre and glass fibre filaments like PAHT-CF and PET-CF to minimise clogging
- 0.8mm: Maximum throughput for large structural parts, functional household prints, and high-strength models
Best Uses
- Printing abrasive filaments — carbon fibre, glass fibre, glow-in-the-dark, and metal-filled blends
- Replacing a worn or clogged stock hotend with something that lasts longer
- Switching nozzle sizes per project — detail work one day, big fast parts the next
- Keeping a spare on hand so a mid-project clog never stops the printer for long
Why Hardened Steel Matters
Filaments filled with carbon fibre, glass fibre, or metal particles act like sandpaper inside a brass nozzle — the bore widens, extrusion drifts, and print quality quietly degrades until parts start failing. Hardened steel resists that abrasion, so the nozzle stays in spec far longer and keeps extrusion consistent even on a steady diet of composite materials.
Compatibility
- Bambu Lab A1
- Bambu Lab A1 mini
- Note: filaments with carbon or glass fibre are prone to clogging a 0.2mm nozzle — choose 0.4mm or larger for composites, with 0.6mm recommended for general CF/GF materials
